As a Communication Coordinator, you will be at the heart of this mission, ensuring our message is communicated effectively both locally and internationally.


Position Description

You will help us elevate our online presence and drive our digital engagement strategy. As a key member of our team, you will craft and execute innovative digital media campaigns across multiple platforms, amplifying our brand and fostering meaningful connections with our audience. This role demands a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise to support Startup Moldova’s communications and marketing objectives.

Working closely with the CEO, Community & Events Manager and Investment Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Startup Moldova’s digital narrative. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for startups, digital storytelling, a keen understanding of new social media trends, and the ability to translate impactful ideas into compelling digital content.

This full-time position is based in Chisinau. 


Essential Functions


Strategic Communication

  • Develop general communication strategy for the organization.
  • Establish communication guidelines.
  • Manage communications budget, creative services and contractors.
  • Analyze communication metrics and prepare reports on performance

Public Relations/External Affairs

  • Serve as press contact and draft press materials, including media advisories, press releases, talking points, and other communications priorities;
  • Conduct regular media monitoring;
  • Develop, update, and manage inventory of internal and external communications tools and platforms across organization.

Social Media Management

  • Create and curate engaging content for all social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Youtube)
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for regular posts
  • Monitor social media channels for audience engagement and respond to comments and messages
  • Analyze social media metrics and prepare reports on performance

Website Management

  • Update and maintain website content using a content management system (CMS).
  • Ensure website content is current, relevant, and aligned with our brand voice.
  • Collaborate with the website contractor to resolve any technical website issues.
  • Monitor website analytics and suggest improvements for user experience and engagement

Content Creation

  • Produce various forms of digital content, including infographics, graphics, and short videos.
  • Collaborate to gather information for content creation
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and is optimized for SEO

Email Marketing

  • Assist in creating and sending email newsletters via MailChimp or alike
  • Manage subscriber lists and analyze email campaign performance

Additional Duties

  • Stay up to date with digital media trends and best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging across all channels

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Two years of experience in communications and/or digital marketing 
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and management tools
  • Basic knowledge of web design and content management systems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with trade associations, nonprofits, membership or related organizations is highly desirable
  • Five years of experience in digital marketing or social media management
