Benefits of Crowdfunding for Startups
Technical Details about the Crowdfunding Law in Moldova
The law establishes clear rules regarding the provision and use of crowdfunding services. Within it, a crowdfunding service provider is defined as a legal entity formed as a limited liability company or joint-stock company, registered in the Republic of Moldova. It must be authorized to provide such services, ensuring a trustworthy framework for donors.
In addition, the law clearly distinguishes between different actors involved in the crowdfunding process. A developer, for example, is a natural or legal person who intends to obtain funding for a project through a crowdfunding platform. Meanwhile, an investor can be any natural or legal person who lends or acquires shares within a crowdfunding project.
Also, it’s important to note that the law includes regulations regarding reward-based crowdfunding projects, where donors receive certain benefits in exchange for their donations, as well as equity-based crowdfunding, where investors receive a stake in the business they support.
All these aspects of the crowdfunding law help create a safe and trustworthy environment for startups, donors, and investors, thus promoting the development of a dynamic and innovative startup ecosystem in the Republic of Moldova. With this law in effect, the future looks bright for Moldovan entrepreneurs.
