The Czech Republic has emerged in recent years as one of Central Europe's most dynamic innovation hubs, building on its strong engineering tradition, advanced research infrastructure, and a rapidly growing startup ecosystem. This was the focus of a study visit that brought together 15 organizations from Moldova's innovation ecosystem to Prague and Pilsen from June 29 to July 3, 2026.
The visit was organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chișinău, in partnership with Startup Moldova and CzechInvest, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
During the visit, the Moldovan delegation met with leading innovation organizations, universities, startup support organizations, and investment funds to exchange experience on startup development, technology transfer, innovation policies, and access to investment.
The Czech innovation ecosystem today includes more than 1,600 startups, over 110 venture capital funds, 150+ business angels, and a strong network of universities, incubators, and innovation centers. Participants also explored advanced testing and prototyping infrastructure that helps startups transform ideas into market-ready solutions.
The visit opened new opportunities for cooperation between Moldova and the Czech Republic, including access to research and testing infrastructure, stronger collaboration between innovation organizations, investor connections, and knowledge sharing on startup-friendly policies.
As Moldova moves closer to the European Union, such partnerships help strengthen the country's innovation ecosystem and create new opportunities for Moldovan startups to grow internationally.
