Role Summary:
We are seeking an Investment Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play an important role in supporting startups in Moldova, focusing on identifying investable companies, facilitating connections with local and international angel investors and VC funds, and helping startups secure funding to fuel their growth. As well, the position requires active participation in organization’s advocacy efforts to promote investment-friendly regulatory framework. The candidate will work under direct supervision of the CEO of the Startup Moldova Foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data on startups within the ecosystem, identifying those poised for growth and investment.
- Liaise with local and international angel investors and venture capital funds to explore funding opportunities for Moldovan startups.
- Provide comprehensive information on funding opportunities available both within Moldova and internationally.
- Monitor and track startups’ fundraising efforts, offering strategic advice and support.
- Organize and participate in events aimed at helping startups’ fundraising efforts and exposure to potential investors.
- Extend the network of VC funds and angel investors interested in investing in Moldovan startups.
- Develop and refine pitch decks and investment memos to support startups in their fundraising endeavors.
- Write deep dives and analytical reports on startups and investments.
- Support the team in advocacy efforts aimed to promote investment-friendly regulatory framework.
- Assist in attracting at least 1 million euros in startups funding within the first year of employment.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of the startups and startup investment landscape.
- Experience in the investment field or financial modeling particularly with startups, will be considered a strong advantage.
- Exceptional networking, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform under stress and tight deadlines.
- Responsibility and comfort with ambiguity and risk.
- Experience in creating pitch decks, investment memos, performing initial due diligence on startups will be considered a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying promising investment opportunities.
- A passionate advocate for startups and entrepreneurship.
