As we enter a new year, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on the past year’s accomplishments. At Startup Moldova, we’re proud to share our 2022 Annual Report, which provides a comprehensive overview of our organization’s activities and financial performance over the past year.
One of the most significant changes within our organization was the addition of Natalia Bejan as our new executive director. With her experience and leadership, we’ve been able to expand our team and take on more ambitious projects. We also developed all the necessary regulations and procedure manuals, which were reviewed during an internal audit conducted by an external audit firm.
In 2022, we kicked off several large projects, including Digital Impact for Cahul, which had a grant budget of 7.8 million MDL. This project will have a significant impact on the community, and we’re excited to see the results in the coming years.
We’re also thrilled to report that the startup ecosystem in Moldova is growing. In 2022, 11 tech startups raised 11 million USD in private investments from foreign venture capital firms, as well as 550k EUR from the business angel community Mozaic. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entrepreneurs and investors in our community.
Overall, 2022 was a year of growth and progress for Startup Moldova. We’re grateful for the support of our stakeholders and partners, and we look forward to continuing to drive innovation and entrepreneurship in Moldova in the years to come.
